Ezekiel Love "Zeke" was born a stray on April 13, 2010. When we first met, it was kismet. We've been inseparable ever since. It only made sense that he become the mascot for this little blog for rescued animals.
Please move down to see some of the wonderful dogs who are looking for someone to love them. These babies were all rescued and have so much love to give. They just need someone like you to share it with. Won't you give one a chance?

The 'Throw-Away' Dog
Picture a vivacious, roly-poly puppy, with liquid-brown eyes that would melt almost anyone's heart. Small, energetic, and full of youthful misbehavior, Nia, a reddish-brown Shepherd mix, almost became a "throw-away dog." At 3 months old she was severely beaten and nearly discarded into city streets. Instead she was rescued, and became a poster-child for animal rescue.
Nia was smart, eager to learn, eager to please and quite devoted to her human family. At 4 years old she was certified as a therapy animal and began visiting nursing homes, schools and hospitals. Visits involving children were her favorite, and the local hospital children's unit became her regular route for much of her adult life. Nia attended college speeches about animal rescue and taught dog obedience classes along with her owner. When Nia's owner was diagnosed with lupus, this special dog was allowed to attend doctor's visits and clinical treatments at her owner's side, because of her strong connection and special credentials.
Nia lost her own battle with cancer when she was 10 years old. This life that was nearly discarded instead became an inspiration to everyone around her.
